Sid’s Wisdom

Life can often feel complicated. Sid prefers to take it one thought, one breath and one paw at a time.

Choose what you need help with today.

When you’re feeling anxious

Your brain is predicting disasters again . Before you believe it, ask yourself :” Is this happening now – or am I imagining it happening?”

  1. PAWSE – Breathe in gently , then breathe out slowly.
  2. NOTICE- Name five things you can see around you.
  3. NEXT PAW- Choose one small thing you can do now.

When you’re feeling overwhelmed

You don’t have to untangle everything at once. Put the whole problem down for a moment, then choose the smallest part that actually needs your attention.

1. STOP – Put down what you’re doing and take one breathe slowly.

2. SORT – Ask : what needs attention now ,what can wait, and what isn’t mine to solve?

3. SMALL STEP – Choose one manageable action and ignore the rest for the moment.

When you’re feeling hurt

Being hurt doesn’t mean you were foolish to care. Give the feeling some room , but don’t let one painful moment decide your worth.

  1. PAWSE -Give yourself time before replying or making a big decision.
  2. NAME IT- Ask whether you feel hurt, rejected, disapointed or misunderstood.
  3. PROTECT YOUR WORTH- Do one kind thing for yourself and speak to somebody you trust.

When you are worried about money

Money worries feel enormous when they stay inside your head. Put the actual numbers on paper before letting fear invent bigger ones.

1. CHECK- Write down the money coming in , essential costs and anything you owe.

2. PRIORITISE- Deal with urgent essentials before non-essential spending.

3. ASK EARLY- Contact the provider or a reputable debt -advice service before the problem grows.

When you have a life decision

You don’t need perfect certainty before moving forward. Look at what you know, notice what fear is inventing, and choose the next sensible paw-sized step.

  1. FACTS- Write down what you genuinely know.
  2. VALUES- Ask what matters most to you, not what impresses other people.
  3. NEXT PAW- Take the smallest safe step that gives you more information.

A little wisdom from Sid

You don’t have to solve the whole journey today. Notice what is in front of you, take the next kind and sensible step, then allow yourself to rest.

  1. PAWSE- Not every thought needs an immediate reaction.
  2. NOTICE- Small good things still count.
  3. NEXT PAW- Progress does not have to be dramatic to be real.
